WWI FROZEN-IN-TIME
In this World War I underground city, time has stood still. An abundance of hand-written notes to the future written by German, American and French soldiers, whose armies occupied the site at different times during WWI, appear as if they were written yesterday. Personal objects, cook ware, utensils, live ammunition & hand grenades, bottles, boots and uniform parts lie on the ground. Evidence of violent underground combat exists near a telecommunications center where the trunk lines leading into this communications hub still hang from the ceiling.
